Luxury by the sea: Inside the newly-opened InterContinental Sorrento
IHG has introduced a luxury seaside vacation resort in Victoria’s popular tourist hotspot of Sorrento on the Mornington Pensinsula.
InterContinental Sorrento Mornington Peninsula normally takes centre stage at The Continental – an 1875 heritage internet site that has been transformed into a present day food, beverage and wellness vacation spot.
The lodge, which opened on August 1, joins IHG’s developing Luxury and Life style Collection.

Made by Woods Bagot as a modernised coastal retreat, the home celebrates the Victorian and Deco eras of the neighborhood region with primary elements very carefully restored, and old images of Mornington Peninsula seaside get-togethers from the 19th and 20th century among the the intensive art collection.

The restored Grand Ballroom will be used for private occasions, and the resort spa, Aurora Spa and Bathhouse, will open up later this year within a thermal bathhouse and wellness centre.
