Golfer shoots man for walking his dog on Palm Beach course

A tranquil Palm Seashore County golfing system exploded in gunfire Sunday after a 74-year-outdated member allegedly shot a male for walking his canine on the greens — as other retirees gawked from their balconies, in accordance to law enforcement.

Robert Levine, initially from New York and now residing in Florida, is dealing with attempted murder raps following confronting Herbert Merritt, 64, at the Kings Point golf training course in Delray Seaside.

Levine was puttering along in his golfing cart when he noticed Merritt walking a pooch shut to the course grounds, in accordance to a police report.

Levine sped his auto up to Merritt and began berating him for the offense right before pulling out a black handgun, authorities explained.

Merritt took off managing and experimented with to just take deal with in the vicinity of a class tree though Levine gave chase on foot and squeezed off numerous rounds.

Merritt eventually went down at the 15th hole right after becoming struck in the ankle, cops reported.

Levine then allegedly returned to his golfing cart, retrieved a club and commenced clobbering Merritt as he writhed on the floor, the report said.

Just one witness observed the chaos unfold from his balcony overlooking the class and known as the police. He told officers that he observed Levine kick Merritt in the head at one place.

An additional woman explained she was relaxing in mattress when she listened to the gunfire pop in close proximity to the rear of her residence. She claimed she arrived out and noticed Levine firing at Merritt.
